My name is Shelby Anderson, and as a coach I love helping women overcome the barriers that come from having a chronic illness. My mission is to empower individuals living with autoimmune disorders to reclaim hope, confidence, and quality of life. I walk alongside my clients as they navigate chronic pain, mobility challenges, mental fog, and uncertainty around nutrition, offering safe movement, natural anti-inflammatory guidance, and mental and spiritual support. While healing may not mean eliminating the condition, my goal is to help clients break through the barriers that hold them back—so they can feel capable, supported, and fully alive even in the midst of their autoimmune journey.

My Story

Ever since I was a young girl, I have been fascinated about how food and movement affect the body. From reading food labels to working out with my mom, I was always worried about “how to be healthy.”

My mom has struggled with sickness almost her entire life, so much so that she had to have surgeries. At one point in my teen years, they diagnosed her with Pre-MS and told her she would be in a wheelchair within five years. One of her health care providers shared with her that many of her symptoms were linked with a gluten allergy. She decided to try going gluten free, and was feeling like a new person in less than a week. She continued to heal and get stronger through both diet change and strengthening exercises.

This experience with my mom made me realize that what we eat and how we move really does affect our bodies in more ways than just satisfying our hunger; and it stirred me to learn more.

Eventually, I went to college and began to have health struggles of my own. For about five years, I battled autoimmune disfunction symptoms from skin issues, to chronic joint pain, to digestive discomfort, to fatigue. I experienced all the emotional distress that comes from not knowing what is going on with my body and having the doctors minimize it to anxiety and stress. As a young girl in her 20s, it became very isolating, and the depression fog settled on my mind. Doctors seemed to offer little hope for me to live a normal life, and in some ways, I felt like my life was over.

Finally, my dad was able to find a functional medicine doctor and holistic health coach who were able to help both me and my mom. They helped me to find root causes for what I was going through, but more than that they offered hope for me to overcome. While they never promised my symptoms would go away, they provided the support I needed to confidently move forward living a normal life despite the pain and discomfort I was going through.

This experience made such an impact in my life that I went to school to become a Holistic Health Coach. I learned that while not every illness will go away, I do not have to be identified by my illness. I want my clients understand this for themselves that they might regain hope and confidence in the body God has given them. My goal is to help them feel fully alive despite the chronic illness or autoimmune disfunction they might be struggling with.
